The Rose .... by Wendy Kerr

"The purity of the rose equalizes the bliss of nothingness"

Family – Rosaceae, R. centifolia, French Rose, Provence Rose, Hundred Leaf Rose

A rose can be a symbol of beauty, achievement, completion and perfection; its mesmerizing fragrance only adds to its effects.  Roses are sacred flowers in many nations of the world and an eternal symbol of beauty and love.  There are many different myths and legends from many cultures relating to the origin of the first rose which was initially White in color and then is miraculously transformed.  Often the pure white rose was depicted as being stained by blood, or made to blush from a kiss.  A recurrent theme that establishes the White rose as a symbol for purity.

Roses carry a long list of healing properties from the skin, when used externally to a digestive aid when ingested as tea or water.   "The Rose" is claimed to cure ailments such as, breathing problems, appetite problems, bruising, head pain, infections, sexuality and the mind.  For dry or aging skin, rose water naturally soothes and cools!  (great for "hot flashes").  An easy way to access this remedy is by making your own Rose water.  It is as simple as using rose petals (the most organic you can find), stuff them in a jar and cover completely with the purest water you have, steep for a week or so, strain and use!
